Linn County is located in east central Kansas. It is named for Lewis Linn, a Missouri politician.
The seat is Mound City while the largest city is Pleasanton. The county is located south of the Kansas City metro area.
It borders Miami, Bourbon, Allen, Anderson and Franklin Counties in Kansas; as well as Bates and Vernon Counties in Missouri.
Major highways include US-69, K-7 and K-52.
